Hewett was well known to me some few years ago as a very promising young student at St. Bartholomew's Hospital; since that time his artne appointments and activity in Hygienic research appear to me to point him out as a gentleman well qualified for an appointment ae Assistant Professor at Netley, since in teaching and prosecuting physical inquiries he will be following the bent of his natural inclination, and probably will devote his entire energy to his work.
